Hey,

Can anyone suggest if we can have a Contact(Interaction) deactivated in a step when load reverses in the same step. I have a Periodic amplitude and so I want that as the load direction is reversed the Interaction definition gets Inactive.

Hi,

Abaqus has option to turn on/off contact during a step.
Your only option it is to split your analysis into separate steps.

You mean Abaqus don't have an option to turn contact On/Off during the step. and the only option is to split the steps?

Correct.

I know LS-DYNA has that option. Unfortunately, Abaqus does not.
