hello everybody,
i am new to ansys and have to solve the following problem. In my model, two parts are aligned (= ). There is no fixed connection. Forces can be transmitted only in the normal direction (and there only in the + z direction). Now I want to create a contact, but I dont know which. It is not a bonded contact, and not no seperation contact. The other contacts are nonlinear. I would like to do a linear analysis. I think i have to create an MPC where only the +z direction is allowed and all other translations and rotations are constrained. How can I define such an MPC?? Or ist there any other possibility to solve my problem?
Another question. When i have a joint like an normal pin and a part. The part can rotate around the pin, just normal. (see picture attached) Do i now define a no seperation contact or do i define a joint, where i define this rotation around the axis? Where is the difference. When i define only the joint, then i don't have the contact condition, but then the pin could move through the part when a force is engaged? Can anyone explain me all types of contacts and the joint thing, thank youuuuuu so much in advance.
best regards
