Contacts: Shared Nodes vs. Unshared Nodes: How to Change?

I'm trying to set up shared nodes between *some* of my parts in ANSYS ICEM before importing the mesh into ANSYS multiphysics for structural analysis. Currently, I have meshed all my parts (conformal meshing?), which consist of volumetric tets and triangular shell elements.

1) How do I tell if my parts share nodes?
2) How do I selectively change shared nodes to contact surfaces? (or vice versa)

Thanks.

Hi,
if it were in Ansys, the answer would be: the volumes will share nodes at the interface(s) if they have been "glued", or if they are physically built from common edges / surfaces. Of course, the case in which the volumes are "added" together is trivial, but then you can't speak of separate volumes of course.
If the model is already built as to share nodes, separating them would require a very tedious work. Instead, if the mesh is such as to have coincident but not shared nodes, and you want them shared, simply "merge" them.

Regards
