We have a large area of carbon steel to clean down to bare metal. Due to conditions, we will be removing scale, rust, and coating to bare steel and then wait up to a week to apply the coating. Conditions are damp and cold , no sunlight. Is there a temp coating/ application I can use to prevent/reduce flash rusting?
Would like to apply as I go. Then in a week come back and remove by solvent or other chemical method the temporary coating and expose the bare steel again? Not a lot of restriction on chemicals but the 1 week delay is unavoidable. Thanks

Henkel, Houghton and Castrol all have products that will work. Do a Google search. You could also look at products, like LPS, available in retail outlets. You want a water displacing product, preferably solvent rather than water base.
