We have several emission streams which contain siloxanes. We presently treat vapors with a regenerative thermal oxidizer with ceramic heat transfer media. The thermal oxidation of the silicon containing compounds results in silicon dioxide powder which coats the ceramic - reducing heat transfer efficiency and increasing pressure drop.
1) Anyone have experience with RTO heat transfer media which is resistant to fouling under these conditions?
2) Any suggestions on innovative point of use controls for the 20 to 100 acfm vent streams (besides scrubbing, condensation and carbon- which I'm already evaluating)?
