Hello,
I am struggling with HEC-HMS, particularly with Control Specifications and Time Series Data. I don't understand what they are and how to configure them so I don't keep getting errors after errors.
As far as the time series data goes, my predecessor told me to use the Type II 24-hour distribution with a 6-minute interval (he gave me the attached file). What would I put in for the precipitation in the Meteorologic Models, in HEC-HMS? Is this enough? Or do I also need to put in a Type II Distribution with specified rain inches for 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 year? If i put in the Type II Distribution, which precipitation would I choose?
Then, the Control Specifications...what the heck are these? And do they have to be the same as the time series data (if entering the values from the attached file)? IN other words, do the dates and the time interval have to be the same?
Is there somewhere on the internet that may help explain these things in layman's terms? This stuff seems so confusing to me for some reason; I can't get it wrapped around my brain.
Thanks for any and all advice!
