Is it possible to reduce fluid flow speed on mechanical piping systems without changing the pipe size.

Is there any equipment could be fitted on piping system in order to reduce the speed.

In a system with a centrifugal pump, induce restrictions in the discharge line, use a globe valve to throttle the flow . Do not do this with a positive displacement pump, in this case you need to reduce the speed of the driver.

Think about using an orifice plate, although they can significantly change the system hydraulics if sized badly.
ie, the raw hydraulic power from the source shall have to overcome a greater hydraulice resistance within the pipe system.
Also orifice plates are generaly considered to be an economic option, ie cheap.

Also,
Control butterfly valves can be used on certain applications in place of a globve valve assist with restrict flow.
