Controlling PF 700 drives

Hello:
Can anyone comment on the Pros and Cons of using RIO communication versus using PLC I/O points for controlling AB PF 700 10Hp AC drives ?
What have lots of spare I/O points on our PLC 5 rack, and we require start forward/reverse, reset and enable signal to the drive and all the field push button I/Os are feeding back into the drive as well.

Hello;
One big advantage is a reduction in wiring. Just run one blue hose instead of ten's of seperate wiring. You also can get better an more status information then with hard wiring. For example you can get a fault code rather than a fault contact.
On the con side, you will need to do more programming, and information on the comms interface is somewhat hard to find. Also the blue hose is more subject to electrical interference (EMI) than hard wiring.
