Dear all,

I want to simulate a half sine shock on a structure. For that I used the *MODAL DYNAMIC keyword, I have my input period signal (so my time step) and I can define my number of increment by just selecting a time increment.

The thing is that I don't want to have a constant time incrmeent. for exemple I want a time increment of x beetwen 0 and a, a time incrmeent of y beetwen a and b and a time increment a z beetwen b and the end time. So the number of incrmeent will be x + y + z.

I looked in the ABAQUS manual and I found the keyword *CONTROL, PARAMETER=TIME INCREMENT, but there are a lot of settings in the options and I have to say I get a bit lost...

Does anyone know how to set up this kind of time increments?

Thx for advance

I just found that may be with a UMATwe are able to modify a lot of parameters, do you think with this solution I am able to setup my custom time increment?

regards

Well I thought about it, but I was looking for a way to do it in just one step..

With your idea I just have to precise the time step i want with the time increment but does I have to make three inputs files for my half sinus or ma I able to keep my single input time with the half sine coordinates?

If I am able to keep just one I will take your idea I think

Thks for you reply btw

What? Just three instead of one steps and adjust your load or amplitude to that. And activate the "continue" option in the step to reuse the final inertia of the previous step.
