I am dealing with the analysis of a very thin plate that has large deflection due to pressure normal to the plate. Thus I believe this needs to be solved using non-linear theory. I have not used ANSYS non-linear analysis before, so I am proceeding slowly. The problem solved without any error or warning message. The iteration summary list the force convergence value as 3.49105 and the moment convergence value as 0.304425e-02.
What does a "force convergence value of 3.49105 mean? Should it be 1.0?

Have you checked to make sure the deflections are non-linear? Sounds like the plate might buckle, especially if the pressure is compressive (acting in) to the plate.

No, not necessarily, depends on the critical value for step convergence. This is just one residual probably from many shown within the iterations. When the (force, displacement, moment, etc.) convergence value drops below the critical value for the increment the increment solves. The code then proceeds to the next increment and the same happens all over again.
