Converging Retaining Wall

Has anyone designed a new cantilever retaining wall that converged into an existing cantilever retaining wall? What are some issues/lessons learned with designing the new wall in close proximity or next to the existing wall?

I think proper join detail and continuation of sound drainage system behind the wall are the keys. May have difficulty to maintain perfect line up since both walls are deflect in different rate.

Designing the new wall in such a manner that the existing one does not fail.

Is the new wall above or below the existing wall?

If the new wall is above the existing wall, you do not want the toe of the new wall to impinge on the stem wall of the existing, and maybe not on the heel either.

If the new wall is below the existing wall, then you do not want to undermine the toe of the existing wall. The new wall may have to take the additional sliding force of the existing wall too.

There are also other considerations as mentioned above.
