Sirs,
We are having an insulated cone roof tank which is storing VGO at temperature of 80 Deg C. Now we are urgently required to store VGO at an elevated temperature of 150 Deg C with out modifying the existing tank. we also checked the tank shell plates thickness at this elevated temperature and found OK.The tank is designed for 90 deg C as per code API 650.But for higher temperature API 650 Appendix M is applicable.
My question is
What are the precautions to be taken for the existing tank to store VGO at 150 deg C?.
Is any example like this?
Is any failure will occur in future?
Pl advise
