Does anyone have a way to convert .CAL files from microstation to DWG or DXF format?

Search the web. There are many viewers and translators available - I am just not that familiar with this particular app.

Maybe MS can save it as a DXF and then into AutoCad??

I have searched the web for awhile and downloaded several converters. Nothing has worked so far. I did not know if anyone has come across this. I am told that the CAL file is the gov't equivalent to TIFF. We are working on a project done in Bentley BIM and were told that we would be receiving files in .DGN format. Now, we are being told that all we are going to receive is the .CAL file which is just a raster file, similar to TIFF. When we need to be able to locate items in the center of a 2'x2' ceiling grid for pre-fabricated material, I need to be able to snap to a line, not just 'airball' it by referencing in an image file.

If you are trying to be real accurate - I have found that PDF and TIFF files just don't always cut it. Seems that they get "scaled" just a bit - sometimes. Not sure why - but they just do.

If you were promised DXF files - I would demand them or renegotiate your time and bid.

CAL or CEL? CAL (CALS) are raster files - this format is supported in AutoCAD. And CEL are Microstation block files - you can also open them in AutoCAD (as DGN files).
