convert mesh to surfaces or solids

Hi,

I obtained a dwg-file which was created in other software and exported to dwg. When I open it in Acad2007 and clik on it I see that it is a mesh. I need to convert this mesh to surfaces or solids. Is there a way to do that ? Thank you !

If it is already a mesh then just select it and right click. You should see the option of "object viewer" seclect that and it can show you it as a solid rendered.

You may need a higher version of AutoCAD for a direct conversion but it can be done. See:

Another useful tool, is the lisp routine mesh to solid (m2s.lsp) There are numerous websites that have this, just google.

Have run across a couple shapes that it had issues with, but it does a pretty decent job overall.
