We have been sent an assembly in the format above which we need to imprt into NX4. Apparently this is some sort of Step file, however we cannont import it. Would anyone know what I need in order to convert this type of assembly?

Many thanks in advance

To somo2424:
No, directly you can not open inventor files. Some time ago we also had some deal with autodesk inventor files. We asked company which made these files to convert them into the step format. Then there were no problem to import them into the nx4.

The Inventor .iam file is the assembly file that holds the component pointers, like a Pro/E .asm file.

Simon, I have inventor and NX4. send me an email at: ben<dot>loosli<at>ge<dot>com
