Converting Bitmaps to Dwg Objects

While I have no problem inserting bitmap or metafile objects (logos etc.) into our drawings, the plotter we use currently will not print these out. We need to convert (ie. trace these objects in AutoCad to make them dwg objects). We are using LT14. Are there any applications that are out there that would automate this conversion process? Most of what we need to convert are monochromatic company logos.

Thanks,

Hi,

I used Corel's CorelTrace long ago (7-8 years) to complete such task. I don't know if most most current versions of Corel contain or support CorelTrace.

Otherwise, sketching over is your only chance.

Hope this helps,
Roberto.

A freeware program called Wintopo will do it, though you won't get perfect results, and will have to do some cleaning.

Thanks for the responses. No one here has any versions of Corel Draw (old or new) but I was able to download the Wintopo program and it saved me a whack of time. Thanks again!
