Howdy,

Is there a way to keep solidworks from removing the cross hatch of an autocad dwg when converting to a solidworks 2001 drawing file? Whenever I open a dwg in solidworks the cross-hatching completely disappears.

Thanks,

Hi mae1778,

When you import an autocad dwg with cross hatch, SW convert these cross hatches in simple lines.
There's no way to prevent it in SolidWorks. Maybe you can set an option in autocad before save the dwg file to avoid this problem.

I hope it can helps.

Thanks for the reply...I figured as much.

Unfortunately, my company decided not to invest in autocad. We recently merged with another company and are trying to incorporate their drawings into ours.

Actually this may be your lucky day. What are you going to be using for 2D and 3D work? Solidworks?

Lucky day? Only if you think working with a clunky version of Microstations is lucky!
