My company is running wildfire 2.0 our manufacturing partner is using catia V5 release 16. I'm trying to find a way to convert one file format to the other so that the part file can continue to be edited/manipulated. I want to be abe to send a part to our partner which they can import and manipulate and then have them send it back to me at which point I want to have the capability to edit features etc.
I would prefer to buy the software to do this conversion, but would be willing to work with a service if that is the only option. I would appreciate any advice.

Unfortunately, the software doesn't work this way.

It is possible to bring in a Pro/E model into CATIA, but it cannot be edited. The same goes in the other direction.

What you get when you convert is a single feature solid. Your partner can add features (protrusions, cuts, etc) and send it back to you, but every time you go from one platform to the other, you lose the feature history.

There are feature based CAD translators, I have just been unable to find one that can handle these file formats as the catia V5 release 16 is fairly recent.
Based on the price quote for a feature based translator that I just received I am now looking for a service rather than to purchase the software.

In all likelihood, a consulting service will have to rebuild the models from scratch.

I've been on the other end of that transaction and in all honesty, I wouldn't recommend it. It takes time ($$$) to rebuild models, and you greatly increase the likelihood of error.

Have you contacted Proficiency (.com)? Seems I remember reading that they provide services.
