I am looking for a way to convert Solid Work and Autodesk Inventor Models and drawings from suppliers into Pro/E. I would like to be able to keep the parametric function, but believe that the .STP format will lose them. Any Suggestions??

Thanks,

Not possible. There is NO conversion software that can take a solid model from one program and convert it to another program format and maintain the parametric data.

Ben,

Sorry, not exactly true. There are several companies that have software that can do native to native conversions. Translation Technology Inc. ( offers one such product.

I guess I should have said that there are no CAD system vendor developed translators that can maintain parameters. I forgot about TTI. Are the TTI translators version dependent?

jcam,

For SolidWorks: SolidWorks developed a translator who can import the parametric geometry into PRO/E. Check their WEB site.
