Hello everyone,

I am trying to simulate the cooling process of thermoplatics in abaqus.
I am getting the results with shell elements but when i am using solid composite elements, it gives an error stating 'LAYERED MATERIAL PROPERTIES CANNOT BE USED WITH THESE ELEMENT TYPE'.
Also, I have read, i cannot use solid composite in abaqus...

If anyone can help me out or suggest something..

Thanking you...

Hi jwalant86,

Sounds like you are attempting to use a 2D solid element which indeed does not support layered material properties. You must use 3D solid elements in order to use layered material properties.
