Dear Fellows,
In my country, Brazil, the use of sand for blasting was forbbiden many years ago.Instead of it we're using cooper slag due to competitive price. I think to myself, was not cooper slag as dangerous as sand to our health? Does anyone has some information about?

Here in the u.k. the industry standard blasting material is the copper slag grit you mention - - - sand was banned many years ago also. I am not a chemist but just accept that our very stringent laws on Health and Safety would not allow what is in any way damaging. Also the Blast operator uses an air fed helmet supplying fresh filtered air which should aso be filtered to remove any oil from the air compressor. Cheers. David W

Thanks, Corrosionman,
It's the same here in Brazil. But I'm not quite sure it'll not cause any damage, anyway, it should be a matter for doctors, not for us, I was just worried about.
