Copying to a kinematically moved model

I have a model which I move using the kinematics to check for clearances etc. I have a crash and need to extract a surface from the crashed part to make a clearance envelope.
When I try to extract a surface it position is in the original premoved position. What do I need to do to get the surface to stay in its moved position??

V5's kinematics worbench will create a Clearance Solid for you - although it will be a CGR.
