I am currently trying to research the effects of adding additional ducts through a brick wall by coring. The existing wall in a chamber has 100mm diameter ducts 500mm spacing (centres) and I am looking into doubling up total number of ducts. Therefore spacing would be 250mm centres and brickwork between ducts would be 200mm. The loading on the chamber would be 5kN/m2

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to determine minimum duct/core spacing requirements in brick walls (UK).

Thanks

Gobrick.com will answer your questions - they are the brick industry association. I use them often. Takes a few days though.
