We have a new site where the earth bonding connections were not coated with protective grease for a few months. As a result, there's a build up of verdigris on the copper cable ends, cable gland earthing rings, etc.
It's been suggested to me that the corrosion will have set in and the only way to stop it now is to remove all sign of it.
Am I safe in assuming that the corrosion won't have got onto the surfaces making the electrical connection (as the tight joints will stop air and moisture getting to them and that coating with grease now will inhibit any further corrosion, or should I get the installation contractor to cut back the cable ends beyond the corrosion and remake all the bonding connections?
Thanks for any advice...
