I have Volvo Penta out drive, 2 yr. old. We had problem with galvanic corrosion due to a defective bus-bar from battery. Volvo paid to re-paint out-drive 1 year age. Now corrosion is back. Dealer says "life on the beach" I say "life due to defects". Boat is stored out of water, never hooked to dock-side power and kept very clean, had less that 100 hours on engine and it is flushed with fresh water after every use. With the out-drive being so corroded, what damage could this problem have done to the engine?
