When I load a product in V5 it gets half way through the loading visualization then I get a error message saying " Command Interrupted" then the PC locks up and Catia shuts down.
Im thinking it might be a bad file.. Or maybe not enough memory. Any suggestions?

Try loading up sub products, if a sub product crashes load the parts of that sub product.
How much ram do you have. Watch the ram consumption in the task manager, this will tell you if you run out. It could be crashing due to visualization. Down tune your parameters in the performance section.

We can try some additional stuff, try this first and see what happens. All else fails, a good old reboot is in order.

Regards,
Derek

You might also want to try resetting your catsettings. That sometimes will cause some things to crash.

Thanks for the suggestions.. When I loaded the part in catia I had the task manager open and watched my memory spike to 100% then crashed.. So im pretty sure its the memory then..

Don't be so sure! It's most likely memory related, but not necessarily deficient system memory. It could be your video card, or it could be a memory leak in your current Catia version. (which is what, by the way?)

Memory spikes are never a diagnosis, in and of themselves...

Slaen,

Increase the virtual memory (swap file) on your hard disk thru WINDOWS Configuration Panel->System->Advanced->Performance

If U work in design mode, try visualisation mode .cgr and switch into design mode only parts U need to work with...

How many parts? How much data? It could be that you simply need to turn your cache on (like heidy mentioned). There is a limit to how much data you can load in CATIA, especially in Design Mode.
