Hi,
im doing an FEA of an entire bevel gear but am confused about the restraints. I am using cylindrical restraints on the inside bore / diameter of the gear and have set both the radial and axial translations to zero. The problem is the circumferential: in real life the gear is free to rotate on its own axis, but if i make the circumferential too big (degrees) then i get the 'large displacement' error message when solving the problem.
Does anyone know what the best / accurate way to approach this?
Thanks.
