Ok, I'm am brand new to COSMOS works but have been using solidworks for about 5 years. I have designed a Hinge and now I would like to use COSMOS on the assembly of the hinge to help calculate how much weight it can hold. I tried goes through COSMOS putting bolt restraints on the hinge mounting holes, pin restraint on the hinge pin, I applied a shrink fit condition to one side of the hinge to pin connection, I applied a hinge restraint on the bores of each side of the hinge, I applied material properties to my parts and I applied a load on the end of the free hinge plate, but I can't get COSMOS to run with out errors. Is there something I am doing REALLY wrong ? Or does anyone have any suggestions for me ? Thanks!!!

mrkoko-

I'd suggest you're overcomplicating it. Your profile doesn't indicate your background. Can you fill it out so we can get a better understanding of where you're coming from (i.e. BSME, experienced designer, mechanic...)?

Hi,
moreover: you don't tell us WHICH kind of errors you get. There can be plenty of different ones, and each one would indicate that something different is wrong...

Sorry, I will update my profile. I am a Engineering Technologist and work designing custom machines, mainly for the automotive industry. I had a feeling I was over complicating things which is why I wanted to know how others might set up COSMOS. I will run the study I did again and post the Errors.
