Hi All,

What does the "displacement distribution" plot represent?

I've been working with COSMOSXpress for the first time and have run through the tutorials and understand what the "stress distribution" plot represents but not "displacement distribution". It's been a long time since I've worked with FEA so....things get lost.

Thanks.

The displacement distribution plot shows you how much your model will deform at specific locations due to the stresses that you have placed upon it. The numbers on the graph are accurate, but the displacement model is an exaggeration of the actual deformation. This is to point out exactly where the deformation will take place. However, as with any FEA, you must take it with a grain of salt since it should not be relied on as 100% accurate.
