Hello Everyone,

I'm working on a project where my client wants me to design a PICV(DN40-50). The main objective is cost reduction and better performance with higher flow and dp operating range targets (0.54-2.68 l/s flow rate and max dp 8 bar). Can someone shed some light on designing part of PICV, what factors i must consider while designing PICV. Im looking for some alternatives such as different stem profiles, spring alternatives, diaphragm alternatives. Anybody who has expertise in this area please help me out.
Thanks.

Hello Sam206,

As a understand it you ask for help in constructing a pressure independent control valve with a better flow under given circumstances.

I am afraid that any help here is dependent on a whole booklet of precise additional thechnical and economical information.

This forum can probably not give you the help you are asking for.

There are vendors and people in vendors organisations who have spent decades designing control valves.

Unless you are working for one of them I can't understand why you are trying to do this independently, especially for such a small valve.

There appear to be many vendors. Why not just choose the best one for your circumstances.
