can anybody tell me the cost of hydrogen production?
any rough figure.

this is from "Handbook for Petroleum Refining Processes" by Meyers, 2nd Edition page 6.51.

For a 50 MMscfd H2 production plant using natural gas as the feedstock, capital cost is roughly $30MM (US Gulf coast, first 1/4 1995).

Feedstock, 730 MMBTU/hr of NG
Fuel, 150 MMBTU/hr
Export steam, 600 psig/750F, 120,000 lb/hr
BFW, 160,000 lb/hr
CW 900 gpm
Electricity, 800 kW.
