Cost of Hydrostatic and Pneumatic Test 2

Hi, currently I am estimating cost of constructing and installation of LPG filling station. And, I want to know the cost/price for doing pneumatic test in LPG piping system and hydrostatic test in fire fighting system. Is there anyone that can provide me the estimation (in US dollar) regarding those tests?

Observation: - By incorporating the lower-cost pneumatic test into your cost estimate, you are incorporating a risk..IMHO, you should be prepared for your field engineer to be forced into a (liquid based) hydrostatic test by the client or local authorities. Hydrostatic tests are usually more expensive than pneumatic testing.

Just call a local test house.

So much is dependant on the layout, size, test pressure, who fills and empties and dries, how long the test duration is etc etc. Could be $10K, could be $100K

Pneumatic testing of LPG tanks has a certain risk factor involved. Are you sure you want to do it that way?

With hydro there is a lot of cost getting the high quality water (which you should have written into your purchase requirements), transporting it, filling, draining, and drying. The testing itself is often not the biggest issue.
The water quality and posttest drying are both very important.
Pneumatic testing of small, isolated systems is fine.
But read the links from MJC, it gets serious very fast and is prohibited in many situations.

Unless absolutely prohibited to do a hydro test (ex. in a refractory lined vessel/pipeline), I wouldn't even consider pneumatic test.

Higher pressure pneumatic testing can be quite expensive. In several such tests, work stoppage was required for entire jobsite for up to 1/2 a day on a large cnstruction site employing over a thousand men for safety issues.
