Costs of 304, 316L, 2205 & AL6XN 3

Hi -

I am evaluating some bids for air pollution control equipment which will be potentially subject to chlorides attack. I am interested in finding a free site or inexpensive web reference to look up the relative current costs of the materials on a $ per lb basis (no particular fabrication). The alloys I am interested in are 304 (not because it would be used, but just for a comparative baseline), 316L, 2205 and AL6XN.

you can quote online. Usually I will tell engineers to just put in the gage they think they will use and some arbitrary weight like 10,000 lbs. Pricing for the four alloys you list would be available on the site.

What product forms? It actually matters a lot. Plate, sheet, pipe, tube, bar????

There are list prices, but they don't reflect purchase price discounts. You will need to get real items quoted.
If you are not really going to use 304 don't bother with it. It has no Mo and the other alloys do, the prices will not scale. Use 316L for your basis.
