Where can I find the dimension from the end of a cross-drilled AN bolt to the center of the cotter pin hole?

I have been unofficially told that this dimension is not controlled, but I find this hard to believe. Internet searches have turned up nothing.

At the moment I'm interested in AN5 bolts (5/16-24).

Are you refering to AN3 through AN20 bolts? If so, the location of the hole as well as tolerances is on the spec. If you need a copy of the spec, I could send it to you, though my copy is pretty old and may not be current. (although I doubt it makes any difference)

iainuts,

Yes, these are the bolts I'm referring to. I'd like to get a copy of your spec, even though it's old - these things tend not to change much over time.

They don't like us to post email addresses here, so please get my contact info at my web site:
Thanks!

iainuts,

I received your email - thanks very much! Apparently the latest version of the document is NASM6812, rev 1, which can be bought from Global Engineering Documents for $34.

arto,

Reid did not have the info posted on their web site, but they do look like an excellent resource. Steve Reid was helpful in tracking down the name/number of the latest document.
