Hello,

I currently looking for some data of API threaded connections, more in particular API Line Pipe.

I know you can machine Line Pipe threads on any pipe which is standardisized according to API 5L. So you can choose from different wall thicknesses per diameter.

But what type of pipe should be used for the coupling (the so called 'box')

For example if I have a 4,5"(114.3mm) pipe (specified Outer Dia) with wall thickness of 0.273"(6.0mm), what outside diameter and wall thickness should I use to produce the coupling? And if I increase the pipe wall thickness, should I use another coupling?

How can I calculate the necessary make-up torque, or can I find this value in a table?

Kind Regards,

Jeroen.
