Hello:
Do you know if there are any journals, specifications or publications discussing the weld design of a cover plate in an orientation such that one weld (of 2) would be in tension and the other in compression (the plate extends on both sides of the neutral axis of the composite shape)? Examples of this would be welding a cover plate parallel to the web of a w-shape under strong axis bending or welding a cover plate along the flange of a w-shape under weak axis bending.
Thank you very much.
