Hi,
For the cathodic protection design of 200 Km of pipeline i used the the following formula to calculate the protected length: L_max=Acosh[(Es)/(El)]/α
the L calculated is the total protected length or the length of protection in one direction from the draining point???

meaning if my draining point is not placed on the extermity of the pipeline, the protected lenght will be "L" on the right direction and another "L" on the left direction ??
or "L/2" on the left and "L/2" on the right

Unfortunately in the source I did not find the information because it takes an example where the draining point is placed in the extremity of the pipeline.
