The groundwater table is estimated from the pore pressure dissipation test which occurs during the CPT, this is very accurate in determining the groundwater pressure at specific depths. I specify the test to be done at least twice within 2 meters of the inferred groundwater table. The remainder of the tests below that will show you the pore pressure at different depths, it either goes up, down, or stays the same depending on if the groundwater is recharging, discharging, or has flat equipotential lines.
