Just got a service call on a building with 3" Cpvc mains with steel sprig-ups. You would not believe the amount of time it took us to track down all of the 3"fittings, and pipe, to make the repair. 7- days for shipping etc. I think parts came from 3- states. Something to think about, when designing, with large cpvc piping.

Large diameter CPVC pipe is not worth the expense in my experience. Anything over 2" should be done in steel if you have the option.

I rarely see plastic pipe in commercial applications. I thought it was only allowed in light hazard, and must be enclosed in a rated soffit? For example, a hotel will often have a 2 to 3 in steel loop around the core, and then it transitions to plastic when feeding the various rooms.

Under the right circumstances CPVC may be used exposed in ordinary hazard applications but due to its listing is practically only used behind fire rated assemblies in light hazard scenarios.

Need to pull the most recent listing, the places and how it can be used keeps expanding
