Hi, all
We have a safety door that can provent steam hurting the customer, but seems the material was not strong enough.
The material is PMMA whhle there is crack after used for less than 1 year. See links.

Sprayed solvent on safety door: 40% NaOH + 100℃ steam
Problem: There is crack on safety door after used 1 year
It seems PMMA can not resist Alkali
Requirement of safety door :
1. Transparent
2. Heat resistant (>90℃)
3. Hard enough to resist scratch
4. Current material: PMMA (Thickness=3mm)
Our opinion: Steam with Alkali sprayed on surface of PMMA and crack occurred as PMMA can not resist Alkali.

Do anyone know the reason of crack phenomenon on PMMA? And is there more transparent material can be suggested?
Thanks in advance.
