Dear experts

i was designing a big tank with very high straining actions , and i FACED a problem in the check of the crack width should i commit with the following table and equations in ACI224R-01 or only the maximum steel stress and spacing mentioned in ACI350-06

Whichever ends up with more steel.
If it's a round tank limit your working stress to 16,000 psi. If it's rectangular use 6 inch spacing and limit the stress to 24,000 psi. I'm simplifying some stuff from the old ACI 350-89.

thanks JedClampett , u are right more reinforcement and more thickness.
your suggested near to ACI350-06 for check on the stresses and spacing depend on type of exposure and type of element (one way and two way) also as per the commentary in the same code (R10.6.4 — This section replaces the z factor requirements of the 2001 code edition. The maximum allowable stresses are now specified directly as a function of bar spacing),so all above equations which are depend on (Z) are replaced in the last code .

Thank you
