Hello,

I am looking for a fastener coating that is resistant to liquid nitrogen fertilizer over an extended period of time. We have looked at the following coatings for our fasteners. Some corroded immediately while other coatings took a season.

Silver Zinc
Yellow Zinc
Gray Teflon
RIE

We did notice that our Craftman tools have never corroded after working around the fertilizer. We even dipped the ratchet in fertilizer -> No Rust.

Does anyone know the type of coating Craftman uses? Are there advantages/disadvantage to it?

Thank,
Nick

Craftsman wrenches and socket wrenches are nickel-chrome plated. That could be pretty pricy for fasteners, but stainless steel fasteners should work too.
