I work as a design Mechanical Engineer on a crane company, we are trying to plain anchoring for a crane but we cant do it (the whole team!). We got a diagram of a previous project that an engineer made, In the schematic above there is a diagram of an anchoring plan for a crane, the square is the cross section of the crane and it is connected to the building using pipes.
There are 2 Forces working on the cross section (they are not in the diagram), Horizontal force = 375kN, and Torque Moment = 149 kN*m.
I need to find the forces at each pipe and afterwards the reactions at the wall.
The solution is: Fs1=49.1 Ton, Fs2=37Ton, Fs3=29.7Ton. (the forces at the pipes)
As simple as it looks we cant get close to the values he got, I think we are approaching this wrong and we would like to get some help.
obviously we need to make 3 equations of equilibrium, the problematic part is the angle of the horizontal force, the angle is not provided and we even suspect there is a different angle for each equation in order to find the maximum force on each pipe. anyone knows how to approach this?
