Hi, I am searching for a tool that can move diffrent objects to a specific layer. Move all sketchs to layer 20, all datums to layer 21 all components to layer...

Is it difficult to creat own ones or is there already someone that has this grip?

Best regards

Check out the download page at for just such a tool, as long as you are on Windoze.

"Fixed in the next release" should replace "Product First" as the PTC slogan.

pnom,

Please be aware thet while the SolidNX layer tool is an excellent tool, it requires a UG/Open Execute license. It is NOT a GRIP program.

Also, as an aside, I have spoken with the author of the program, and we found out yesterday that this tool works in NX3. I am not sure if he has had a chance to update his website to reflect this fact.

Good Luck!

There are entities that you can pickup interactively or with GRIP that UG/Open API can. This is why the SolidNX layer tool is valuable for this type of operation.

I guess you meant to say "can't pickup". Which enitities are you concerned with?

I have tried the NX layer tool and also creating a macro.

The NX layer tool needs some interaction from the user, you have to select objects that you want to change.

I have created a macro and think it will work fine.

Thanks for the answers.
