create common nodes along of the common edge of two faces

hi, everyone:

in other software like patran, in order to conect two surface sometimes it´s necesary associate the edge of one of them to the other surface so the mesher create nodes in the same position for both surface and finally do equivalence for deleting the duplicates nodes and then the mesh of both surface is conected, someone could explain how to do this in Abaqus, in order to the mesh of two surface is conected in common nodes.
