Create core inserts

This may be a UG beginners question.

Is there a simple way to create a sub core insert from a main core insert in mold design
A main core was created for a plastic part and to create sub inserts within the main insert.

Any better solutions please..

Beginner here too
1.Extract body(use timestamp),then cut away from that body whatever you want.Now try boolean with main core insert.
2.Create new file,insert it to main core insert or mold assembly,WAVE in main core insert at timestamp,cut away anything you want.Now try boolean with main core insert.

If you create a new part (core insert) under you main core block and model your blank insert Mold wizard will do the rest for you. Under the sub-insert command using the mold trim option, set your options to trim, core side and mold surface.

I believe this is what the above command does, but investigate it for yourself to make sure you understand it.
(Or you could just do it manually)

1) It links your core insert into the trim part and uses the core trim sheet to trim your insert.
2) Then it links the trimmed body back into your core insert.

You will have to either have your layers set correctly when you perform the command or change the layers after the command is completed.

You can either use a false body or you could use the original blank insert for your pocket.
