Hello!

I'm medelling a Reinforced Concrete slab in ABAQUS. I'm using SHELL element in a 3D space of model.

I have to apply some concentrated forces in points that aren't geometry points.

How can I create new points in ABAQUS (entering coordinates) to apply concentrated loads?

Thank you

Regards

The easiest way is to partition your model at that location. That will create a clickable point when you apply the load.

Maybe a datum point also works, but I think it won't work.

Good luck!

Thank you for this tip.

With a partition I can't click points that I need because they are in very different position of the plane.

A DATUM POINT doesn't work because ABAQUS tells me that is an error: a datum point isn't an internal point of the geometry.

Anyone knows a solution?

Regards

The reason why a Datum Point will not work as a valid location for a point load is due to the fact that a point load must occur on a node. Partitioning forces the an element break at that location. This is exactly what the error message is telling you.
