I know it’s very tricky, but you can create a 2D Centerline in Drafting.
With the following settings:
gap=0
dash=longer as the longest spline
extension=0
Then export/import cgm from the centerline and you get the middle spline.

Woodfox, that's a pretty clever workaround.
I am not sure that it will work though. The 2D centerline expects 1+1 object to center between, which is kind of difficult for example on an "a".
The "classic" old workaround to create "freeform centers" is to create a surface between two contours and then extract the isoparametric 50% curve from that. Does not work on this geometry.
That said, this is probably a very difficult task since characters are drawn by artists and not by algorithms, the "thickness" of a letter varies "along".

Is there a good reason for the request ?
or can you cheat by creating a new text in the same place ?
There are several threads about this type of text feature but using a single line font only. ( This will not match 100% but might be an acceptable workaround)
I assume that engraving is a common purpose.

YOu can also "Explode" the text into single curves after placing it. Maybe this will give you better options.

In the manufacture, they prefer the splines of the letters because it's more easy to do the programs.
To solve that i had to extract the curves of the letters and i did "offset curve" in some of that extrated curves
