I want to create a circular bimorph. I tried it by sweeping as well as extrusion. But I encountered error such as "sections must be closed" or "section cant intersect". Since the bimorph consists of two consecutive layers, two layers of rectangle should be swept around a semi circular path. Any idea how can we do this in abaqus. Creating the bimorph in cad software and importing causes difficulty in positioning of origin and creates problem in further analysis.

You can create a single layer of a disc and then partition it (for example using datum planes) to divide it into layers.
