Creating a Parent Project file from 5 child Projects 1

Hi,

I was wondering if there was a way to create master projects using MS project.

Say for example I have 5 projects, within themselves they have external dependencies and internal dependencies. I now want to have a file (sort of like a parent file) that will have ALL the tasks under one hood. (I have approxiametly 6000 tasks between the 5 files). If anything were to change from the child file, the parent file should be updated accordingly. Is there a way to program this in MS Project.

Thanks a lot guyz,

Simon

Simon,

If you open all your projects, then go to Window|New Window... you can see all your projects. Highlight all the projects you want to include in your parent project and OK.
You can now save this file as your parent project file.
MSP will ask you about saving changes to files with links, so you have to be careful about which file you change, the parent or one of the originals.
